Aquaculture Drugs and US Regulations Training Module for International Producers
The world has increasingly become a global market place. United States seafood consumption is rising steadily, and a significant portion of that seafood is being grown out of the country. Food that is imported into the US is expected to meet applicable US regulations and requirements for drug use.
This training course is designed to clarify how the US regulates drugs for aquaculture. It provides information to identify what drugs may be used and how they should be used to prevent unacceptable residues. It identifies where to look for detailed and current information, and provides a general summary of US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements and recommendations for drug use in aquaculture. The training course is designed for foreign producers who export their products to the US and may also be useful for foreign regulators.
