The CSPF training team traveled to Bangkok, Thailand from November 5-9, 2013. The program sponsors included the Department of Food Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkutt’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), and the National Food Institute (NFI) in Thailand.
Phase II of the Food Safety and Supply Chain Management for Spices and Botanical Ingredients program was delivered in Maryland and Mississippi for participants selected from the 2012 pilot program in India.
JIFSAN’s work doesn’t only apply to professionals already in their career fields; JIFSAN also supports students working towards a future in food safety. Sarah Allard, a University of Maryland PhD student in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture, is one of the students that JIFSAN helps support with career goals and research.
