Dr. Jianghong Meng Speaks at International Conferences in China

Dr. Jianghong Meng, Director of JIFSAN, attended the 2014 Plenary Meeting of the International Scientific Committee of China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment, and the International Symposium on Food Safety Emergency Response in Kunming, China on October 13 and 14.

 Dr. Meng chaired the committee and gave an annual report on the committee activities in 2013-2014.  He also delivered a lecture on risk profile of emerging non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli.  Over 100 participants attended the symposium including members of the Expert Committee of Food Safety Commission of the State Council of China.

On October 16 and 17, Dr. Meng attended the 2014 U.S.- China Health Summit co-sponsored by Beijing Union College of Medicine and Harvard University in Nanjing, China.  Dr. Meng gave an overview on the US food safety system in Session 2 Food Safety and Healthy Diet.
