Food safety in China: Cleaning up the dirty dining table

A recent article in China Daily ( reports that China has passed what is touted as its toughest food-safety law. The push to provide safe food to more than 1.3 billion consumers is providing opportunities for US companies and their expertise.

Working with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), JIFSAN is in a unique position in assisting China to modernize its food safety system. JIFSAN has offered various training programs to Chinese professionals to improve their skills in food safety risk assessment and management, hands-on laboratory technologies, food inspections and best practices in food productions.  The Institute will continue its efforts to make contributions to ensuring the safety of the global food supply.
