The thirteenth in a series of annual symposia in food science is jointly organised by The Food and Environment Research Agency (Fera), UK, and the Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN), University of Maryland, USA. Each year the symposium focuses on a different topic associated with state-of-the-art food science and technology. The topic of the 2012 event is "New developments in food science: realising the potential of 'omics' technologies".
