The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) in collaboration with the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) will convene the 2019 GenomeTrakr Meeting from September 17-18, 2019 in College Park, MD. JIFSAN is hosting a pre-conference training on GalaxyTrakr on September 16 – Tuesday, September 17 (noon). The meeting will bring together public health and university laboratories who contribute to the FDA’s GenomeTrakr network, the first distributed network of laboratories utilizing whole genome sequencing for pathogen characterization. Meeting participants will learn to use new data generation and analysis tools, network with their peers, discuss best practices and common challenges, and learn about how their data is utilized to detect and speed up the response to foodborne outbreak investigations.
